RAINBOW CORNER
We would like to invite you to the article that will show you how, with a small budget, you can create a truly rainbow scenery! Here is our DIY rainbow corner!
To achieve a rainbow effect, it is enough to follow one rule in force … in a rainbow corner we only use six colors of the rainbow (red – blue – green – orange – yellow and red), and their lighter and darker shades. Of course, we also allow black and white.
As the main element of our decoration, we chose the classic “do it yourself” rainbow from the KOKO CARDBOARDS collection.
Making a rainbow takes about 90-120 minutes (we suggest spreading the work into 2-3 sessions), it is a task that can be easily handled by a child from 7-8 years of age. Making a rainbow is not difficult, but it is very schematic, so we especially recommend this activity to children who will need some work on concentration and patience, but also as a form of relaxation and tranquility.
You can buy the rainbow HERE. We also recommend a short VIDEO that presents the process of creating the rainbow.
The second element that we will use in our corner will be felt balls, from which we will make a garland by threading them on a thread. Felt balls can be found in stationary and online stores: haberdashery and creative.
Then we thread a string of colorful wooden beads.
Remember we follow one rule… we only use the six colors of the rainbow! This opens up a great opportunity for us to place absolutely anything that meets the color criterion in our rainbow space. What does this mean in practice? That if you equip yourself with paints (we recommend RENESANS acrylic paints, available in any art shop), you can paint literally everything you want! Also objects that the earth gave us, and which will cost you absolutely nothing: stones, sticks, shells, dried leaves etc.
Our warehouse is full of cardboard treasures, so we decided to use them in our arrangement. It was enough to paint them!
A yarn is always a good idea for a simple and inexpensive decoration. I chose wool in the colors of our rainbow tassels and duplicated this motif by attaching a mini garland to the shelf. You can also make cute pompoms from wool!
I also decided that the perfect finish for our rainbow corner would be a garland with the inscription LOVE, which you can find in our store HERE.
Also, remember to stick to the color scheme for utility items in the corner. It’s that simple and it has a really cute effect! See how great the art supplies and books, arranged in color, look great.
AND HERE IS THE FINAL EFFECT!
You may have noticed that another additional element has appeared in our arrangement: a hat! It comes from the TRAVALER costume from the KOKO CARDBOARDS collection, you can buy it HERE.
We painted the hat with paint and added two decorative bead chains! It turned out beautifully!
We wish you a lot of fun! Share the results of your work with us by tagging us on Instagram @koko_cardboards. Remember also that the principle of observing the color palette always works great and can be used in any colors you are interested in. If, for example, you dream of a blue corner, stick to the full monochrome palette of this color from delicate blue to deep navy blue, and the end result always will be successful!
See you next time!
